GENERAL INFORMATION

1) HEALTH
Attendees must be able to document Covid-19 vaccination. We have partnered with Ailm Medical to provide a convenient, digital vaccination verification system for our members attending SIMD 2022. See information here. The Rosen Shingle Creek Resort is an outstandingly well-maintained, spacious facility with mitigation measures in place (see here).

ATTENDEES:
To register, please select the Register link. The registration fee will allow access to all sessions, the opening reception, the poster session, the abstract book and program.

Early Bird Registration deadline is February 15, 2022. The registration fee increases on February 16, 2022 and then again on March 15th.

SPEAKERS:
You will receive complimentary registration but you do need to register for the meeting through the SIMD website. Please contact Leslie Lublink (leslie.lublink@gmail.com) to obtain the access code for the complimentary registration if you have not already received it.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. All cancellations must be received by March 15, 2022 to be eligible for a full refund. After that time there will be a nonrefundable processing fee of $100. Cancellation notices should be sent via email (leslie.lublink@gmail.com. After the deadline, in cases of emergency, refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

3) EDUCATIONAL CREDITS
Educational credits for physicians, nurses and genetic counselors will be offered.

4) HOUSING:
You are responsible for making your hotel reservations. Please check the link in Venue and Accommodations. The housing deadline is March 9, 2022 to receive the group discount. You will need to provide a credit card number to secure your reservation. Please make your hotel reservations early.

Hotel cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance of your reservation.

5) MEALS AND RECEPTIONS:
MEALS: Complimentary breakfast will be provided on April 11th, 12th and 13th and lunch will be provided on April 11th. There is an optional dinner April 11th for the price of $85.00. The menu can be found here. The price for children is: 0-3 Free; 3-11 yo $29 and 12 and older $85. You can purchase this optional dinner during the registration process. You will have an opportunity to enjoy the many restaurants in the hotel and around the area for other meals.

RECEPTIONS: The opening reception will be held on Sunday evening April 10th from 7:00-10:00pm at the Rosen Shingle Creek. Hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine will be served. We will also have an attended poster session with exhibits open on Monday, April 11th from 7:00 - 10:00pm with dessert, beer and wine.

6) TRAVEL AWARDS FOR TRAINEES, FELLOWS AND JUNIOR FACULTY:
In order to promote the interest of young scientists in the field of inherited metabolic disorders, we offer a reduced registration fee for trainees and fellows. This year we will be offering 12 travel awards in the amount of $1,000. Travel awards are available for students and trainees at any level (doctoral, post-doctoral, resident, fellow, etc.).  A limited number of travel awards are also available for junior faculty (instructor or assistant professor or equivalent level, within 5 years of beginning one's first faculty position). Individuals who wish to compete for these awards must submit an abstract (on-line), and also have a letter from a sponsor sent to Leslie Lublink via email (leslie.lublink@gmail.com) when the abstract is submitted. The support letter for junior faculty should affirm that the applicant is within the first five years of a faculty rank. Trainee travel award recipients are automatically considered for the Founder's Award competition at the meeting.
The abstracts are to be submitted electronically (See instructions for abstract submission -- When you are entering the abstract, select the radio button for Travel Award. If your abstract is accepted for a travel award you will either be selected to give a 10 min oral presentation on Monday, April 11th or present a poster along with a brief 5 minute oral presentation during the Poster Session and Reception on April 11th. Abstracts for travel awards are due by NOVEMBER 15th. You will be notified by December 6th if your abstract has been selected for a travel award. If you are not selected for a travel award you will still have the option to present a poster at the meeting.

7) ABSTRACTS FOR POSTER PRESENTATION:
All abstracts are to be submitted on line through the SIMD website. There is no limit on the number of abstracts an individual may submit; however an individual can only be first author on one abstract. Confirmation of submission, acceptance and/or rejection will be communicated via email by January 15, 2022. The abstracts are to be submitted electronically (See instructions for abstract submission.

Abstracts for poster presentation are due by November 30, 2021 (aside from abstracts for Travel Awards, which are due November 15, 2021).

8) ACTIVITIES
On Tuesday, April 12, 2022 you will have a free afternoon to enjoy the attractions around the Orlando area. Please check out the Area Attractions here: www.visitorlando.com/things-to-do/attractions/ or www.orlandomeeting.com/delegate/.  Adjacent to the property are miles of nature trails, including nearby the scenic Shingle Creek Trail network through local wetlands.
