Dr. Rutledge trained at Vanderbilt University, the University of South Alabama School of Medicine, and at Johns Hopkins in Genetics. She was board certified in Genetics and Biochemical Genetics, Pediatrics, and Neurology, and was on faculty at the University of Alalbama Birmingham since 1989, where she served as Director of Clinical Services in the Department of Genetics. Lane was a devoted teacher and clinician, and always charmed her coworkers, trainees and patients. She was a wonderful person and made many contributions to our community. She will be sorely missed.
