SOCIETY FOR INHERITED METABOLIC DISORDERS
TRAVEL AWARDS FOR TRAINEES AND FELLOWS
This year we will be offering 12 travel awards in the amount of $1,000.
Travel awards are available for students and trainees at any level (doctoral, post-doctoral, resident, fellow, etc.).
A limited number of travel awards are also available for junior faculty (instructor or assistant professor or equivalent level, within 5 years of
beginning their first faculty position). Individuals who wish to compete for these awards must submit an abstract (on-line), and also upload a letter
from a sponsor when the abstract is submitted. The support letter for junior faculty should affirm that the applicant is within the first five years of
a faculty rank. Trainee travel award recipients are automatically considered for the Founder's Award competition at the meeting. The abstracts are to be
submitted electronically (See the ABSTRACTS tab for further information and to submit your abstract). When you are entering the abstract,
select the radio
button for Travel Award.
If your abstract is accepted for a travel award you will either be selected to give a 10 min oral presentation on Sunday, March 19th or present a
poster along with a brief 5 minute oral presentation during the Poster Session and Reception on March 19th. Abstracts for travel awards are due by
November 15, 2022. You will be notified by November 30, 2022 if your abstract has been selected for a travel award.
If you are not selected for a travel award you will still have the option to present a poster at the meeting.
